The two-week Safety Strong student training program, taught by teachers in their individual classrooms, lays the foundation for the development of schoolwide active threat exercises. The Administrator’s Manual, a major factor in bridging the gap between the school and law enforcement, guides school personnel through the process and roles of developing a school safety team for an active threat emergency. Prevention and preparedness strategies are included as well as resources for risk assessments, lockdown exercises, and reunification.
